Strong composition. The structure(do these have names?) is a little dark . This is tricky lighting. You get the structure and blow out the sky or get a agreat sky (like you have) and loose the sturcture. Next time you might want to try exposing for bothe and use HDR to blend the images. Or put the sun behing the structure with backlighting.

@DonLon: Thanks for your suggestion. To show just how new I am to processing, I had to look up what HDR stands for! I only have Photoshop Elements but I may have to look into some software as this kind of situation is often frustrating for the reasons you mentioned. BTW, these are called torii in Japanese.

I agree with DonLon, it's a tricky capture, you want the sunset to pop but somehow the structure gets too dark but I find I prefer the sunset to be the focus and leave the structure dark
